(assuming you are right handed)
Step 1: Correct Grip
- Hold the racquet like it is a hammer – this is called a “continental grip.”
Your right hand should be positioned on the bottom of the grip and your left hand on top. Your hands should be touching but not overlapping.
Step 2: Body Position
Turn hips so your right hip is pointing towards the center of the net.
Your racquet strings should face the net and make a "happy face" (please watch video to fully understand).
Step 3: Swing
Drop the racquet down pretend racquet is going around a beach ball. Swing from low to high.
Step into the ball with your right foot.
Step 4: Follow Through
Racquet should finish over your right shoulder.
